Abu Dhabi: More than 300 Christian clergymen signed a letter, apologising to Muslims for Crusades and the consequences of the war on terror, which resulted in human and faith damages.

In a letter titled 'Loving God and Neighbour Together', the Christian clerics replied to an earlier letter from 138 Muslim scholars titled 'A common Word Between Us and You'.

Canarybird: the Orthodox church doesn't have to respond, as Orthodox christians were themselves victims of Roman Catholic crusades.

Catholic "holy army" burned and looted the holy city of Constantinople in 1204, for which the Pope John-Paul II already apologised.

A dialogue is always good but in my personal opinion this has to be spread to the communities and parishoners etc. No good of apoligising on their own behalf, and again why the crusades this is something similar to original sin which was carried from Adam and Eve.

As this is only a part of the whole article I do wonder who those clergymen were the were not acting on the part of the vatican that is for sure and also the Orthodx church have not yet responded.

War on terror which resulted in human and faith damages - well I do wonder why Christians would apologise for this.

As this is article is only one part of the story and I did not read the letter that was sent around the world it is difficult to decide why they apologised.

This will not stop terrorism nor the reason for terrorism so the clergymen can apologise all they want - they have to reach out to their congregations to get resutlts if they don't and don't achieve results then the apology is in vain anyway.

Than a whole truck load when I'm gone
