Anti-ogle goggles for men!

I posted this in Politics and Culture, because religious groups was not showing..

Anyway, this is an interesting one. I don't think this should be made fun of because , It is left to the individual to decide how to overcome their weakness, whilst not harming anyone else.

No hijacking or bashing please. just your thoughts.

In a change of tactics from previous ultra-Orthodox strategies that in the past have targeted women as the culprits of lasciviousness, the Committee for Purity in the Camp offers a variety of gadgets to limit the field of view and so prevent men from exposure to over-exposed women. The devices have recently gone on sale in ultra-Orthodox neighborhoods of Jerusalem and elsewhere.

Two semi-transparent stickers applied to the lenses of the user’s spectacles blur vision of anything beyond the range of a few meters and so diffuse immodestly dressed women to a harmless blot.

The organization also offers head scarfs that extend over the eyes for added protection against concupiscence.

A particularly tricky challenge for travelers are airplanes where men and women are forced together in a confined space. Available from the committee are its most successful products, two different designs for portable screens that can be erected in an airline seat to block out not just passing women, but also prevent the calamity of inadvertently watching an in-flight movie.

According to a report in Maariv, the products come with a message of encouragement assuring customers they can be proud rather than embarrassed when using the items in public.

What is interesting about this is that the onus is being put on men to "divert their gaze", rather than on women to cover.

the Haredi movement is gaining in popularity among israelis: no TVs, no cinemas, little to no internet, they live in closed communities where women wear the niqab (specialy married ones), and don't work alongside men,... and many haredi men stop work to concentrate on prayers and torah studies. lately they made the news since they were exempted from military service.

A reputable newspaper does not necessarily mean that all its articles are gospel truth. I do not have any objection to the article itself. Expressions such as, 'prevent the calamity of' are decidedly in bad taste.

I told you having a product like this is an innovative idea and if it can fulfill someone's need and can make someone happy without being at the cost of someone else' comfort, why not?

I wonder how it would change the way women dress if all the men of the world were to become blind at once. Would some of them wear even more lightly? Or would they just start covering themselves up even more. It is funny though to think of a situation like this.

The article was written in a reputable paper and focuses on a pertinent issue.

You and I may find it hard to fathom or relate to.

to me, it shows that those who are strong of faith are not afraid to take steps even though they may be open to ridicule from others..

I feel this article has been written in rather low, if not bad taste. Whoever came up with this idea of making such a product was certainly an entrepreneur. How successful he or she is going to be is for time to decide.

I personally would not use any item of such sort; however, I do not think I would ever scorn, ridicule or even talk about someone else' use of it. I think it requires a high degree of self-restraint on part of the user to use it.

I feel in the future, some hundred years after, they would be able to make a gadget which will be able to read the thoughts of humans. Thus whenever someone will think bad, for example thinking of the opposite gender in an immoral way, they would get an electric shock. But few people would use it I guess.
