Work Visa?????/

I am working in fitness in Doha, I have my Residents Card but I have been offered a job in engineering here in Doha, which I would like to take.

Does anyone know if I can take it or will my visa prevent me? My current employer / sponser probably won't release / transfer my visa, is there a way round it?

mdayr: no need for such vitriol! The answer you seek is there above. Speaking to your sponsor about your new job opportunity and you concern that "working fitness in Doha doesn't work as everyone is fat and lazy" and try to convince him to release you. If he chooses not to release you, your only option is to leave Qatar for two years and then come back.

"Everyone is fat and lazy."

Now that's really interesting news from a pro. I had the same impression, but I could not prove it so far.

I'm not a desperate job seeker or have no self respect, thank you I took a career change, as I love fitness but working fitness in Doha doesn't work as everyone is fat and lazy.

And stealth, "he is working on fitness. Now hes got an engg job? What nonsense", why is it nonsense?

Thank you for your comments, not that they have been any constructive help at all, typical of people in Qatar, stuck up

you can always talk to your boss regarding your new job;

but in case of his refusal you'll have to go outside Qatar and come back after 2 years, in order to get that engineering job.

why did you accepted working at a fitness centre while you are interesting in engg.

Either you are a really desperate job seeker or have no self respect, sorry to say.

The funny thing is that it's not funny at all. Some sponsors can rule and ruin the lives of people here as they wish. With the sanctions of the government who invented these absurd rules.

Engelbert Humperdinck - Release Me

Play the song from Engelbert Humperding: Please release me, let me go, for I don't love you anymore.

Maybe it'll work.

Why doesn't your 'sponsor' release you? Does he love you so much?
