To me language is not someone property and every one can be perfect with his/her efforts. This does not looks to learn a language rather some thing more than that !!!!

funny post and replies to it,esp by the non native english speakers(the ego to be the best at english..hahaa),LOL..but to be fair, if the guy wants to learn from only native english speakers, whats the harm..probarbly he's worried about the pronunciation n doesnt want to appear stupid while using the english he learns, while impressing other native english speaking people(with his adopted false accent later)..guess thats why these requirements are set by him..

would be interesting to see how his enthusiasm dips,if the teacher turns out to be from the above mentioned countries,of the 3rd or 4th generation residing there, esp if theyr non caucasian..

Listen man if you cant get help just try Rosetta Stone. Its a cd program that makes u say the words into a microphone and it tells u if its correct or not. Its not cheap but worth every penny... Theres other languages... arabic, russian, english, italian, french.. everything. the CIA and undercover police in the USA use this program to learn how to speak the language they are assigned. With the same accents and all. Good luck.

You probably don't know practice makes a man perfect.I would like to tell, only native English Speaker knows better English it is not true all the times. It is true that Native has the fluency in English. But it doesn't mean He has lot of Grammatical knowledge. If I gone through the better books and speak with the friends listen good English I can prove myself that I know English. So Practice is the matter of relevant matters.

Based upon the above communication it seems to me that you are not so bad as you assume to be. It is requested that you start practising to speak in front of a mirrorfor at least half an hour daily. While watching any english movie channels just try to keenly observe the pronounciations. Practise grasping as many words as you can. I'm sure you'll master it. No filthy spending upon such issues, becos money is precious, power, everything sometimes. So - SAVE IT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.

What is your place of birth and what Arabic you can teach ?

By anonymous• 30 Dec 2008 18:45

I am willing to give you English lesson as spoken by the Queen and newscasters.

But how can I make sure you are not teaching me bullshit in return. There are many arabic accents. Not speaking the language, how would i know? Anyway, which kind of arabic you want to teach back? Koranic or dialect?

You can always go to the UK- London and attend ESOL courses free to visitors..unless you come from that part of the ME where you will be considered a visa national.

My advice to you is go to British Council and ask: Chances you will be greetd by the Philippino guy there speaking with an accent you won't like.

They say where there is a will there is a way but I notice where there is money there are ways!!!

If your requirement is to learn a language then there is no better way to learn it from a teacher and a teacher could be from any country as long as he know his trade well. But it appears you want to get acquainted with some one from UK rather than learn a language. Good luck anyway....

There is a book "English Communication Made Easy For Dummies".. Try that. Maybe it might be useful to you.

You could probably Enhance and Eradicate your Accent and Errors respectively and get the misspells Replaced with Reproductive and Meaningful words with a Marvelous and Tremendous Accent by using various Spectacular Techniques provided in the book. (phew)

I think i saw that book once in AL-JARIR Book Store..

i feel more comfortable talking in english to an indian than to an arab. Their accent might be a bit weird, but they understand what we speak and i understand what they say..

Who said nothing is impossible?? I've been doing nothing for months...

thats not true ..as far my english is not bad and i dont say computher for computer or yani for and ,thable for table and so on...i did my best and i dont speak english as arabic and many dont either, talk to any qatari who just graduate from qatar uni recently, they speak as if they are not arabs, its all the matter of controling urself and learn but if u still insist on saying jiro insitead of zero then its an induvidual problem.

By freakyguy• 10 Nov 2008 16:36
freakyguy

even if you learn from native ensglish speaker, you will say "computher" for "computer", "yany" for "and", "thable" for "table" and so on, the problem is any languages other than our mother tongue, we speak it in our own way, that is in the accent of our mother tongue, for example even filippinos speak french, german, urdu, arabic anything they never use "f", they use "p", very simple in there language there is no fa

Ok i dont want it ...bcz asking if anyone we can exchange languages but he should be native it made big issues and asking if i was born in qatar or japan! very strange people in QL. sometimes if we dont like the post its better not to put ur comments. I said the reason why i dont want to exchange the language with someone whos not native and thats not a big deal.

By GodFather.• 8 Nov 2008 22:09

People like you just stick to your own language it is better..You requirements are both confusing and give hints of racism. I wonder whats your nationality and if your were born here??

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, President Bush(who is American) has a terrible grammar. His solecisms are awful. His mistakes were all over MSN Arabia.

Plus, his accent does have a Texan blemish(trust me, that's not what you want).

What you should be looking for is a person who speaks good english with a standard accent. I gather you haven't interacted with many native English speakers.

From my experience, I can tell you that non-native English english teachers generally have a standard accent(not kearalite or terrible arab accents). Secondly, their grammar is unbeatable.

An Arab can never develop a good accent(not even the standard one) unless they learn English as a first language in kindergarten. I assume you are not in Kindergarten!

Brits from the north have a brouge(an accent which is loathed world-wide, even by Brits from London). Texans also have an awful accent.

Point is there are variations even in the British and American accents. It all depends on their district/state than their nationality.

I said native to avoid those who use b insited of p and those who use p instead of f...and also the indian accent! i really dont want to learn from someone who has strange accent sorry! i know there people who are not native from uk or us and they score high in english but i dont care about score what i care is the good accent as british/canada not like kerala lol

Why native- some of non-native speak better than native. Don't you know the top SAT English scorer is non-native English speaker.

By the way, I don't know Arabic and you don't know English... how we are going to communicate and learn... hahahaha.. use SIGN language....do you know that???

"not just born there". If somebody was born in say UK and stayed there then his first language will be english. Your requirements are confusing.
