Schlumberger or Halliburton
By alexandria1008 •
Hello everybody!
I just want to hear your thoughts about Schlumberger and Halliburton. Both companies dominated almost all the oil producing contries in the world and I want to know which company is better to work with considering the decrease in demand of oil in North America.
Thank You!
how can I apply to schlumberger? I tried online seems useless. how about sending a fax, email? you know their address?
Dear all both schlumberger/Halliburton are not oil companies instead they used to provide services to oil companies.
I used to work for schlumberger and would highly recommend that to any one specially if you are an engineer. Slb is one of the best companies in respect of developing/training their staff. Flip side is they are not very competitive with oil companies when it comes to your pay check.
I have an interview today in shlemberger, I hope i will succeed
Oabazeed left Qatar last year!

HI Oabazeed,
Im looking for HR job could you please gv me an ideato submit cv to SLB
Thanks
there are a lot more oil companies that you can try to go after; weatherford, baker hughes, exxonmobil, occidental...why limit yourself to just these two?
Both companies make more than 20 Billion profits last year. Once you get to join them, you are secured.
"No matter what they say, the boss is always right".
WHERE CAN I submit my CV? need job badly//
good day
Both are good company.
Everybody is right everybody is wrong, it depend where you stand
The Grass is always Green on the other side....
I'd take a Slumberland ned anytime. Hic

You can't go wron with any of them, but I don't agree with how you describe them. They are huge, but they are not dominating their fields. It also depends wher you want to work. I would suggest you try to get North Sea Experience, after that you are ready for anything.
Thank you very much, Oabazeed, Just PMed you
too many people from schlumberger in qatar
would go with halliburton/ smith/ wood group
Fareeda,
Send me a PM with all your concerns and questions, and I will try my best to answer them.

please Oabazeed, can you tell me about SLB. I want to know about the grades and salary.
Alexandira, I worked for SLB for more than 4 years, I can give you full information about it, and HAL as well, but need to go now, will be back to write something for you.
TC
:D
SLB is blue, and HAL is red,
and blue is better than red for sure, :))
:D
worked for Hali's in Qatar for a number of years and now works for them in Aberdeen.
They can be a pain on grades and inequitable salaries but she is still with them.
Stacy hit the nail on the head with the evil at the core bit. I believe Cheney still takes money out of the pot
I worked for Halliburton as well, back in the days when Dick Cheney was the CEO. The company is inherently evil at the core, but fun was had by all. I agree with Harry99 that they look after you quite well and there is lots of room for growth, especially laterally. I especially enjoyed surfing the coporate Intranet for internal job postings.
I had a great tme.. We were looked after well and there were oppounities to ove into other areas of the company..
I believed both companies are engaged in exploration and other oifield services. Halliburton used to have KBR (construction segment), as of now they are into drilling, etc.
Harry99..how is like working with Hal? Is it a career wise to be there rather than SLB?
What do you mean "decrease in demand of oil n North America"..
I used to work for Haliburton... Had a great time..
Schlumberger is exploration Company while Halliburton is Construction.

isn't Haliburton a type of fish?
schlumberger!!!!
Schlumberger is better...
