Hi All

My boyfriend currently works and live sin Qatar and i am trying very very very hard and many hours on the internet looking for work in Qatar but i am finding it extremely hard.  Is this normal???

I am still living in Glasgow and starting to think this is the reason i dont seem to be getting any replies to my application??

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Thanks very much for that. i contacted the embassy last week about visas i can get a 6month one for £72 or a years one for £115 so that pleased me. Did u stay in a hotel when u first went out??? Sorry i know so many questions just everything is so unsure. I contacted Key Resources but not much help cause im in the UK told me when i am there to contact them then.

I work in Marketing! Got the job through word of mouth just need to meet people hang out and go from there! Get the visit visa before you come out so you will be allowed to stay for three months instead of having to travel every 21 days will try and find the website for you in a bit hang on found it

http://www.embassyhomepage.com/

Just send it off with plenty of time coz they can be slow the prices have changed slightly it's 100 pounds for 2-5 year visa but have to fly out every three months as i said before! Have you tried key resources etc? but then again they will want you to do tests which you can not do unless you are here!

Initially, defining senior level jobs in the organisation and latterly giving advice on HR, particularly policy and compensation.

come here first, there are so many foreign firms having proejcts here, to get a local term contract job is not a problem.

my office have quite a few "like you".

I was only joking!! What they need to do is get organised being so close to the games i thought they pay was not that bad but then again if you already live in doha with a partner it is worth it! What did you help them out with?

Sorry Sammie, I didn't mean to be nosey. I worked with them on a couple of occasions and had suggested that unless they structured the pay they would struggle to recruit staff.

Sammie, any idea what the reason for the staff shortage is?

Is that (DAGOC) who you are working for and which section? I assume it is DAGOC as you are scheduled to be in Qatar until January.

Yes they are well under staffed but it takes them a month to do anything about it!

They still have loads of jobs at THIS stage of the proceedings??

the quickest way at the moment for you to get a job over here would be with the asian games so look it up on the net they still have loads of jobs over here the other thing is to come over here as you can not attend interviews from over there!

It's preferable that your boyfriend puts out the feelers. Here contacts and connections are everything.
