Just came across this thread - if you are still reading this my friend, my advice as a expat from the Uk is give the UK a wide berth in all respects!! In employment terms the jobless figures will go beyond 3 million this year and new jobs despite the rhotoric coming out of the coalition government are NOT going to be generated - throw this into the mix with the social unrest and the UK is not going to be a good place to be for some years/ever. You may think its not great in Qatar but I know where I would rather be right now and for the forseeable future - just my opinion.
to be very honest, it would be almost impossible for you to get a Tier 1 visa without a degree. The other option (Tier 2) rather unlikely also - because you're not a highly specialist professiona, so it would be almost impossible for the company to prove that they were unable to identify a suitable candidate within the European Union (they would have to do that before they could offer you a job) - because your occupation is not on the list of shortage occupations for UK.
But, if you (or your spouse) are citizen of one of the EU countires, you have a right to live and work in the UK under the freedom of movement act (no need to have a work permit).
I agree with Kieron - I would not risk leaving your job to go to UK on a visit visa and look for work. This is a receipe for disaster in current UK job market.
Never leave your job here and go on a visit visa for a job in UK. You might never find one.
Most employers (99%) of them ask for National Insurance Number, which you wont have, so you wont he offered a job in the 1st place, you need to go to small shops and restaurants and need to ask for a job and then if someone offers you one it will be for cash and will be a very hard job. So never go.
If you would like to go there with skilled labour visa? i guess you should have bachelors degree atleast to apply for that .. (yesterday you were asking about how to get degree)...
