Holmesglen Qatar

I would like to start a fresh discussion about a company in Qatar. The company is called Holmesglen Qatar. This is a subject for those employed by "Holmesglen Qatar". Also called "Salam international" here is what this thread is about.
1. General review of this company. Like how helpful the staff are and how professional they are.
Have there been problems dealing with staff and what the reputation is.
2. do they keep your passport with them while you are in the country, if you needed to leave the country do they make it difficult or are they easy going and helpful.
3. Is it possible to keep your passport with you or do they insist on keeping the passport with them? Is this a law in Qatar?
4.Do they offer a salary that matches what QP employees doing the same job get as a salary? Comments and replies from trainers who are working for Holmesglen Qatar are most welcome.

To answer your questions, I worked with them for quite a while and I DO NOT recommend them to anybody....

One good thing...they do pay on time.

1. Office help is ok but they must blindly obey Omar who is nothing more than an arrogant, unprofessional and a blatant thief. Ready to steal your money for any reason.

2. They DO NOT keep your passport, but they make it very difficult for leaving the country. They will tell you when you can take vacation and hope you never have an emergency, because they will not help you with anything.

3. Salary is probably about 50% of QP instructors and you are entitled to NO benefits like using the Beach Park and do not expect to be invited to any “Instructor” function held by QP.

4. HOLMESGLEN (Salam International) is definitely a terrible choice, and the turnover is extremely high due to the way they treat their employees. As a contractor, QP will not support you in any way.

Stay away from them as you would stay away from the plague………..

Hi Patrick and thank you for your advice.

The QP recruitment process is reputed to be very slow, as you can read from many posts here in QL. Just keep applying on their website, and who knows, you might just get a call or e-mail from them soon.

Hyperfifer, since you are still not yet here in Doha and you keep referring to QP in your posts, I suggest you vist the qp website, www.qp.com.qa. They have lots of job openings there and maybe you'll be able to find a job directly with QP, rather than with their contractors. Good luck!
