I find it hard to argue with someone I do not know even. I know my sentence is correct, yet I do not wish to debate about it as I am not an English teacher. I am only telling you not to claim things which are not true. The English that you use can pass well for a regular workaday lingo in the US. However, by no means, can you claim this will help anyone pass tests. Academic English is pretty different.
And yeah, there is nothing wrong if you can help people become more conversant in English and basic writing but that would not be for exams. You know what I am trying to say?
I am not trying to challenge you here. I am only trying to explain to potential students to understand what would getting English lessons from you be worth.
Your best students could be people who are not studying anymore, yet require English in their everyday life. For example, those who want to visit an English country for a vacation or business purposes.
All that I am offering to do, is to help whoever wishes to learn through a NATURAL born English speaker with college, business, tutoring and real world experience from the USA.
Also, before you point the blame towards other peoples posts you should start criticizing your own. It's as simple as going to your profile and reading some of the posts that you have made on this site. Here is a glaring mistake in your own response to this forum post, "Is this the level of English you intend to bring your prospective students AT?"
I'm positive that many are skeptical about the scams and hustling that can happen on internet boards, especially when its a service provided. However that is not why I am here.
So with that I wish you the best. I'm not going take my time explaining qualifications to those that already think they perfectly know the English language. Once again my goal is to help those that are in need of tutoring. I will thoroughly go over my qualifications with them during the interview, which is what it is for.
Consider this revision:
The sentence you mentioned is still adequate English. I have seen many ads on this site with rather basic mistakes: wrong capitalization, inappropriate tense, spelling mistakes, sub-standard wording, use of slang, and so forth. Do you think those are the kind of ads you would expect of an English tutor? These blunders which i just outlined swarm the pages of QL.
There are so many errors in your own wording. Some are subtle: others are obvious.
How can you help someone prepare for IELTS and other language tests when your own English is far from adequate? Why are you so reluctant to disclose your qualifications? How can someone care to give you a try when they do not even know your background?
If you're interested in receiving tutoring I am happy to discuss qualifications during the potential student interview.
And what are your formal teaching qualification(s) and experience?
The phrasing in the text you have quoted is still usable and understandable English. However, I have seen multiple ads that have very basic mistakes. Such as; every word in a post beginning with a capitalization, incorrect use of past-tense verbs, multiple misspellings throughout the entire post, shorthand or slang used (UR instead of your or you're). Would those ads be more akin to what you would expect from a tutor? These blatant mistakes I have listed are what I have seen flooding the pages of QL.
Don't be fooled by ads that claim they're English Tutors that are misspelled, and using improper\broken English.
Do you really think the above construction should be expected to come from an English teacher? For me, the above sentence is one of the best examples of substandard English. Is this the level of English you intend to bring your prospective students at?
