Dream JOB

By flexicode

There are lucky people who don't need to work even a single day of the week. They don't wait for weekends as I do. I need to "WORK". I need to put in a lot of effort to remain afloat in my job. I am not in the kind of job I would have really loved to be. Parental expectations were one of the reasons I am where I am today. (hope my mom will not access this post ;)). I am not in my dream job. I would have been an excellent teacher. I love teaching. Are you in your dream job? If not, what it could have been? ...pls share.
I am not talking about the company you are working for or the pay packet for that matter. It is the compatibility factor, the type, the nature, the satisfaction, the joy...

and would have loved to be a chef; cooking is so therauputic. Unfortuantely, there was no money in it at the time unless you were in a top hotel so I went offshore instead.

I've enjoyed my career but I still have a dream to have my own restaurant and learn from the chefs that I employ.

My other target is to grow potatoes in Cyprus. Two reasons for this: number one reason is that flowers die when I try and tend to them, but vegetables thrive and I do love a good tattie. The other reason is that I love Cyprus.

6 years from now is the target for the Cyprus thing; maybe 2 to 3 years for the restaurant. That's this month's plan, anyway, until the financial gremlins throw another spanner in the works.

I think we need to be very practical when it comes to job.. Dream job has to be in dreams but not in true world coz dream job keeps changing as soon as you are in one of your dream job...

I'd like to become a writer..but I studied Electrical Engineering which I also like but now my job is "secretary". I'm happy but I'd be happier if I could work as a writer or work in a power plant..

nomerci you are selected for the post of "Gray Eminence" in my future Kingdom. When you emigrate don't forget to bring all your pets and hobbies and lots of toys, as you are going to have plenty of free time....for you must know my ill disposition towards any kind of advise from anybody.

But you can be my war counsel...but there won't be any war as I maintain good relations with everybody.

And one more thing...In my kingdom I will abolish God!

Now choose your monthly salary:

a) 3 pink unicorns.

b) 5 white elephants.

c) 100 gold coins.

Well, not yet but I think I'm getting there... Working from the bottom gives me a better understanding how the system works and learning through experience which is related to my target job gives me advantage when I'm there just need some more time. I need to learn much more so I wouldn't be the guy who don't have a clue on what his doing. I just hope that I can get my license back home first before that dream job so I wouldn't need to go back on things.

I always wanted to be a writer and I am not even close to achieving that. It will be great if I can become a writer or an editor somewhere.

TFS ... but by writing "There are lucky people who don't need to work even a single day of the week" I did not mean, no work, time pass or enjoying by listening to music, chatting etc. What I actually meant to say is when somebody is in love with his/her work, it is so involving that no effort is required to be put in. In effect s/he does not feel like "WORKING" and the time flies off. Aren't those people lucky?

i am quite happy with what i am doing... Job with my previous company didn't allow me to apply most of my multiple skills, but my current job involves activities, where most of my skills have come in handy, and i am happy with that.

I didn't become a ballerina, as i was dreaming while was a child. I did ballett for several years in school, but my dad said to me: either you become the best in this field, or don't bother to chose it as your profession. I loved ballett and dancing in general, but it looks like i didn't have enough technical abilities to become one of the best in there.. so I switched my professional orientation. I still love to dance, but i never regret that i haven't become a ballerina.

I tried few different areas, but two things would have never crossed my mind: to becomes a doctor (even the smell of the hospitals knocks me out), and to become a teacher (even though my Mom is a teacher), I am too impatient to teach. I prefere to do it myself rather than to explain 100 times the same thing again and again :)

But I cannot agree with your "There are lucky people who don't need to work even a single day of the week". I quit my previous job because I was sooo bored there! it was absolutely nothing to do, and I started feeling like useless idiot. And at that time i did wait

till the day is over, till the week is over.. and time was just dragging. Now I don't have to wait :)..days are flying..week has just started, and the weekend is already there ..:)
