Directing Lab
This workshop will help the participants develop their filmmaking and directing skills. Working alongside Brice Cauvin, an Award-winning French film director and writer, and Afef Ben Mahmoud, a Tunisian director and actress, participants will get a chance to get practical insights on directing and filmmaking in general. This six-day long workshop will allow participants to have a hands-on experience in working with scripts, preparing for a shoot and directing scenes and actors.

Acting Lab
This workshop is designed for actors who have intermediate to advanced acting experience. The participants will have the opportunity to work in teams and to play two roles in three scenes, receiving valuable insights throughout. This six-day long workshop will allow actors to work with Brice Cauvin, an Award-winning French film director and writer, and Afef Ben Mahmoud, a Tunisian director and actress.

Brice Cauvin
Brice Cauvin is a French director, screenwriter and actor with 25 years of experience. In 2017, he became the head of the Directing Department in La Fémis, the French national film school.
Cauvin directed his first feature film in 2005, which was selected at the Berlinale and received the Variety Award, followed by many other awards.
His second feature, L’Art de la fugue (“The Easy Way Out”) was also critically acclaimed and well-received by the public. It was screened in more than 17 countries and selected in various festivals.
Afef Ben Mahmoud
Afef Ben Mahmoud is a Tunisian director and actress, known for her role in Pour les beaux yeux de Catherine. She is also a dancer and was featured in many music performances.
“Making Off” by Nouri Bouzid’s, in which Ben Mahmoud was the lead, won awards at multiple international film festivals. She also had the chance to participate in many Italian productions.
Her directing career includes three shorts, a documentary and is currently working on her first feature.
