I am currently employed as a Student Support Practitioner within the FE sector and wondered if a similar role exists in Qatar? I work with students with asc/dyslexia/dyspraxia any individual who has a statement really. I have been told (don't know how accurate this is) that it is unlikely I would be able to continue in my current role when I move to Doha (joining my husband in March) as inclusion is not really on the agenda yet particularly in FE. I hope I have been misinformed! Any comments/advice would be gratefully received. Thank you.

Thank you so much for your prompt reply it is really helpful. At least I now know that there may be a possibility of continuing in a similar role when I am in Doha.

Autism is at raise in qatar ... and i specilized person like u is always in demand. Like UK said , there is shafullah, there are few more learning centre (Qatar foundation) and others too.

you can always provide one or two hr service/counselling session to the private schools .... and be in their visiting faculty .

there is a lot of scope here for ur field

GodFather.

No true there is great demand for someone like you. Most of the big school would really benefit from your experience and even if you dont get into a school or teaching institution you can always do private sessions.

I know that there are few specialist school that would really benefit from experts like yourself. There is one called Shaffalah Center which is a Local institution supported by the Education department and there are places like Sunbeam that are private.

Best of luck with your move!
