In order to protect public property from any damage and refrain from causing any harm to life while safeguarding the general decorum of the main roads and interiors roads, the General Directorate of Traffic has dedicated a special team to oversee the violations causes pertaining to drifting in unauthorized areas across the country.

Colonel Jaber Mohamed Rashid Odaiba, Assistant Director of the Media and Traffic Awareness Department at the General Directorate of Traffic, stated that the department has a dedicated unit to apprehend violators who are seen drifting in public locations.

If the drifting occurs in approved areas, such as Sealine, it is  encouraged due to safety safeguards that are in place, the official stated.

He told Qatar Radio that, if the drifting is done in public places between communities that may endanger people's lives or damage public property, legal action against the violators shall be taken in less than 24 hours.

The General Directorate of Traffic's Investigation Section closely watches such instances.

People are collaborating with the department, and citizens may provide photos of offenders to the investigative section, that will follow up with them, according to the official.
