WhatsApp user gets three years in jail for blackmailing woman

All of us are quite tech savvy and use chat application WhatsApp top keep in touch with loved ones. If you are not careful, it can even land you in jail.

A young man was recently sentenced to three years in jail for misusing the app and using it to intimidate a woman and defaming her, reported Gulf Daily News.

It is understood that the man, who stole the woman’s phone, threatened to make her private pictures public if she did not start an affair with him.

The woman, a teacher, had lost her cell phone a few months earlier, but failed to report it to the police. The convict kept harassing the woman before she took the matter up with the authorities.

The blackmailer will be deported once he completes serving his sentence.
