Travelling out of the country? Arrive at least 3 hours early at HIA!
Due to the Eid Al Adha travel rush, Hamad International Airport (HIA) has advised departing passengers to arrive at the airport three hours before the flight "to enjoy a comfortable and seamless journey".
The HIA advisory said the rush is expected to continue until September 14, the Gulf Times reported.
@dohanews definetly a good idea to come early, check in queues five rows deep at each row of check ins this morning. pic.twitter.com/8FeXygIKHU

"To enjoy a comfortable and seamless journey, be sure to check in online, arrive three hours prior to your flight and use the E-gates to avoid queues," HIA has said, reminding passengers that check-in would close 60 minutes prior to departure.
People who are dropping off or collecting passengers have been advised to use the short-term car park, which offers complimentary parking for the first 30 minutes and costs QR5 per hour thereafter.
Passengers also have the option of parking their vehicles at the airport’s long-term car park, which provides them with a regular shuttle service to the main terminal every 15-20 minutes.
However, if you are going to be away for a long period, this may prove to be a fairly expensive option.
We recommend booking a Karwa taxi, or using convenient mobile app booking services like Careem or Uber.
For assistance at the airport, or for updates on deals and offers, try the HIAQatar App available for both Android and iPhone.
Buy Business class tickets. No Queue at all :)
It takes hours to clear that big queue at the emigration, despite having quite a number of counters, very few are active. Why aren't appropriate measures taken to minimize passenger long stay at these queue.
Then one has to pay 250 QR to clear at once. There much more things for the authorities to improve upon in terms managing the Passengers especially during these peak seasons.
3 hrs are not a problem for most of us, we may shop for 1 hr extra ..................
This is wise advice for easier travel
