Some parts of Qatar reached a standstill after reopening of schools and offices
Things largely went according to script as several parts of Doha came to a standstill as schools and offices reopened after lengthy annual and Eid Al Adha breaks respectively.
Large blocks had always been expected as thousands of kids, some of them who use private transport, returned to school en masse. The rush was particularly heavy in school-areas during morning and afternoon hours. The traffic wasn’t too bad at other places.
First day back to school for all kids i #Qatar. Parents are rejoicing, others stuck in traffic are cursing. Ah life. Ups and downs #fb

Some motorists who started their travel to schools and offices early were saved from the hassle of long queues.
Authorities too stepped in to save the day and they heavily monitored the roads to keep the traffic flowing.
Traffic wasn’t too bad this morning on C-ring, maybe I was just lucky? #Doha https://t.co/htGAmd3vlO

School to office in record time today. What happened to the dreaded Doha traffic - was I just lucky or is everyone still asleep?

Some of the most congested areas in Qatar were Abu Hamour, Mesaimeer and Old Airport.
However, several motorists also said they did not face too many difficulties in coping with traffic, thanks to alert cops.
Traffic police did a great job on the first day. I noticed plenty of them on the roads redirecting and maintaining traffic flow.
Great stuff.
Som got delayed, some left early and got there without hassles and some had no issues
This is so common with all major cities on such occasions ................ It is to mark the end of our hoildays .......................... it's part of the life's joys ...........
