Second stage of Phase 4 of the gradual lifting of the restrictions begins on September 15
Qatar has been gone above and beyond in its fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
For the past few months, the country has dedicated efforts to ensure the highest standards of monitoring, detection, and management of the infection, keeping the health and wellbeing of the population as a top priority.
As Qatar continues to combat the spread of the virus, the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management thanks both citizens and residents for their commitment to adhering to the precautionary measures which have contributed to limiting the spread of the virus.
With the gradual lifting of COVID-19 restrictions, the Committee stresses that it is always necessary to continue adhering to these measures, especially during the coming period which will see the further lifting of restrictions.
Based on the indicators of the spread of the virus in the community, as well as public health indicators which are continuously monitored in Qatar, the second portion of the fourth phase of the gradual lifting of restrictions will start tomorrow, September 15, 2020.
From the beginning of part two of phase four, the relevant authorities will continue to assess the situation and consider re-imposing or lifting some restrictions based on developments and health indicators.
The restrictions lifted as of September 1, 2020, will remain in place.
The second portion of phase four will include the following:
Cinemas
Increasing the capacity of cinemas and theaters to 30%, provided that all precautionary measures are followed and allowing only those who are 18 years and above to enter.
Gyms, health clubs, swimming pools
Reducing the capacity of gyms, health clubs, and public swimming pools to 30%, while following all precautionary measures that have been previously announced by the relevant authorities.
The Supreme Committee for Crisis Management emphasizes that the evaluation of lifting or imposing further measures depends on the cooperation of the citizens and the residents and the commitment to following precautionary measures, including wearing masks while outside, washing hands, maintaining a safe distance, and activating the Ehteraz application.
Additionally, the Ministry of Public Health today (MoPH), it was revealed that Qatar has become one of the first countries in the world to launch a new saliva-based COVID-19 test for all children who require a COVID-19 test.
