Yesterday, Qatar inaugurated the Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor, which is seen as an important step forward in Qatar’s journey towards improving road access to all parts of the nation.

The Corridor, which has been named after Kuwaiti Amir HH Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah, is part of Qatar’s celebration of Kuwait’s 58th national day and 28th liberation anniversary, said Qatar’s Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Seif Ahmed Al Sulaiti.

The minister said the country celebrated the two events with their Kuwaiti brothers every year, according to Gulf Times.

HE the Minister of Municipality and Environment Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie expressed his happiness at the inauguration of the major road.

“It reflects Qatar’s gratitude to Kuwait for the historical stances it took and it will never be forgotten by Qatari people. Giving the name of the Kuwaiti Amir to the corridor was the least we could in return for Kuwait’s political, economic, and humanitarian support to Qatar,” he said.

“The project will help strengthen ties between the people of Qatar and Kuwait. It also acts as a tribute to HH the Amir of Kuwait,” Ashghal Eng. Saad bin Ahmed Al Mohannadi was quoted as saying by Qatar Tribune.
