Rains and strong winds set to intensify from today evening onwards
If you experienced rains and strong winds in Qatar yesterday, then get ready for more of the same, in higher intensity.
Qatar’s metrological department has said that rains and winds will intensify starting today and continue until next weekend, reported Gulf Times. One should also expect lightning and thunder.
The Met department explained that Qatar was still under the influence of an atmospheric instability ‘due to an upper-level low-pressure system coinciding with an extension of the Sudan heat low-pressure system.’ This is expected to continue until at least February 18.
During the time, it will continue to be cloudy and the winds will blow mostly from southeast to northeast direction. People have also been warned of blowing dust today and tomorrow.
The met department has cautioned people against going out to sea during this period.
On Saturday, there was scattered rain across the country.
