Qatar's population reaches another all-time high of 2.675 million
Qatar's population has reached yet another all-time high of 2.675 million according to the figures released by the Ministry of Development Planning & Statistics (MDPS).
MDPS released its monthly preliminary figures of Qatar's population as of 30 April, 2017. The figure represents the number of persons all ages (Qataris and Non-Qataris) within the country during the month of April.
The previous highest population figure was in the month of February when there were approximately 2,673,000 residents in Qatar. There was a growth of 3.8% in population in the one-month period between January 31 and February 28, according to this Qatar Tribune report.
The latest population recorded in April is 0.6% more than March, which stood at 2,659,000. The ministry also noted that the population has seen a growth of nearly 4.5% in the latest figures compared to the same period in 2016.
Looking at previous years' figures, chances are there could be a drop in the population during the summer months between June 1 and August 31, but the figure may climb marginally again in September when residents return from vacations.
