Qatari courts hear almost 100,000 cases in 2015
The number of lawsuits heard by the Qatari courts in 2015 totalled 96,664, of which 80,933 were disposed of, according to the Annual Statistical Statement on the cases filed in the courts in all levels over the past year.
The statement was adopted by the President of the Judicial Supreme Council, HE Masoud Mohamed Al Amiri.
The number of lawsuits heard in 2015 has increased compare to 2014 in all types to reach 7,563 in parallel with an increase in the number of verdicts which stood at 7,735.
The statement also said that the percentage of tried cases of cheques accounted for 99% while that of environment and traffic increased to reach 96% for each.
The number of labour lawsuits in 2015 also recorded an increase totalling 1,853 cases, of which 1,320 cases were disposed of.
The statistical statement shows that 21,391 cases were filed in the courts during the months of July, August and September 2015, an increase by 1,483 cases compared to the corresponding period in 2014.
President of the Judicial Supreme Council highly appreciated the efforts being exerted by the magistrates and their assistants.
