
Qatar, Tunisia vow to bolster bilateral ties

Qatar and Tunisia share a historic relationship, which has been strengthened over the years with several cooperation deals across different fields, including tourism, transport, environment, judicial, among others.
By last year the trade volume between the two nations had risen to over QR76.3 million.
Now, the two nations have affirmed their willingness and desire to boost their bilateral ties.
As part of his three-nation tour, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani is visiting Tunisia.
Yesterday, HH the Amir held official talks with the Tunisian President Kais Saied at the Carthage Presidential Palace.
The discussion delved into means to further cement bilateral relations in all fields.
Economy, investment, security, and defense were identified as some specific fields the two countries look forward to combining efforts for.
It was also highlighted that a mechanism needs to be established to fasten the speed up the work between the two nations within the Joint Higher Committee.

Moreover, the two leaders exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern, specifically the Palestinian cause and the Libyan issue. The two sides emphasized the need for joint Arab action in this regard.
The official delegation accompanying HH the Amir, as well as a number of Tunisian ministers and senior officials, attended the session.
Earlier upon HH the Amir’s arrival at the Tunis-Carthage International Airport, President Saied, Governor of Tunis City Shazli Boualak, and several high-ranking Tunisian officials welcomed him.
Qatar's ambassador to Tunisia Saad bin Nasser Al Humaidi, Tunisian ambassador to Qatar Sami Al Saidi, and members of the Qatari embassy in Tunisia were also present on the occasion.
