Qatar sends two fully-equipped field hospitals to Lebanon
Qatar has spared no effort in coming to the aid of Lebanon, particularly in recent months, following the deadly Beirut Port Explosion that took place on August 4, 2020.
Part of the country’s immediate response saw the mobilization of efforts to send a search and rescue team to the Lebanese capital in addition to providing two fully-equipped field hospitals to treat those affected and injured in the devastating incident.
Now, Qatar has once again come forward to provide support to the brotherly nation of Lebanon.
Under the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar has delivered two-fully equipped field hospitals to Lebanon.

The hospitals and the necessary medical equipment were transported in two Qatar Amiri Air Force aircraft.
With a capacity of 500-bed each, the two hospitals will assist Lebanese authorities to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the areas of Tyre and Tripoli.
The Minister of Public Health in the Lebanese Caretaker Government Dr Hamad Hassan and Lebanon's High Relief Commission secretary-general Major-General Mohamed Kheir received the two aircraft at the Rafic Hariri International Airport.
Dr Hassan thanked HH the Amir and the people of Qatar for this humanitarian support.
The Lebanese minister further mentioned that Qatar’s support came as a blessing to the Lebanese people as they face despair and discouragement caused by the successive crises in Lebanon.
Acting charge d'affaires at the Qatari embassy in Beirut Ali Mohamed Al Mutawaa highlighted the Qatar-Lebanon friendship, stating that the two hospitals were fully equipped to serve areas of Tyre to the south and Tripoli to the north.
Two additional aircraft with modern medical equipment are expected to arrive in Beirut today to equip the two field hospitals, Al Mutawaa mentioned.
Recently, the Government Communications Office (GCO) underlined Qatar has provided medical aid and support to over 80 countries around the world since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
