Qatar and India sign number of pacts to boost bilateral relations
The Qatari and Indian Prime Ministers signed a number of agreements and MoUs that is expected to boost bilateral relationships between the two countries.
The official talks were led by HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani and Narendra Modi at the Prime Minister's residence Hyderabad House on Saturday.
Members of the official Qatari delegation, as well as several Indian ministers, discussed on ways to enhance co-operation between the two countries.
After discussions, the two countries decided to mutually exempt entry visas for holders of diplomatic, special and official passports.
Both countries decided to jointly fight cybercrime.
Qatar's Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) signed an MoU with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) as did the Qatar Ports Management Company and Indian Ports Global (IPG).
Indian President Pranab Mukherjee also met HE the Prime Minister at the Rashtrapathi Bhavan in New Delhi.
Separate meetings were held with India's Interior Minister Rajnath Singh and the country's National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval, at his residence.
