Qatar customs seize 600 bullets at Abu Samra border
The General Authority of Customs has foiled a bid to smuggle a large number of narcotic 'tramadol' tablets at Hamad International Airport, and seized 600 bullets from a passenger coming through Abu Samra border port.
Officers seized 2,894 tablets after inspecting a bag of a passenger coming from an Arab country, the authority said in a statement yesterday.
Ahmed bin Ali Al Mohannadi, Chairman of the authority, honoured the inspectors for the two seizures and stressed continued efforts to protect the country's security.
He said the authority is supporting its employees in all ports and providing them with training in customs-related fields. [Qatar News Agency]
