Qatar Amiri Air Force conducts aerial refueling exercise with US Air Force
Qatar and the US have always maintained strong bilateral relations. In a bid to further cement ties the two nations have continued to partner across various domains in recent years including defense, energy, air transport, among others.
To further enhance bilateral cooperation, the two countries held the 3rd Qatar-US Strategic Dialogue in Washington DC earlier this year.
Convening top officials from Qatar and the US, the dialogue focused on strengthening the existing economic, military and security cooperation between the two nations, among other areas.
Yesterday, the Qatar Amiri Air Force and the US Air Force conducted the first aerial refueling exercise together.
The Rafale aircraft of the Qatar Amiri Air Force were refueled in the air by the US Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker aerial refueling aircraft.
This exercise highlighted the practical side of the strategic partnership between the two friendly nations.
On a related note, next year is set to be marked as Qatar-US Year of Culture. The 2021 Year of Culture has been specifically tailored to present a diverse program featuring exhibitions, festivals, bilateral exchanges, and events to be held in both countries.
