Qatar-Algeria talks constructive: HH the Amir

After his visits to Jordan and Tunisia, as part of a three-nation tour, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani arrived in Algiers yesterday morning.
President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and some top Algerian officials welcomed HH the Amir and the accompanying delegation at the Houari Boumediene International Airport.
HH the Amir was accorded an official reception after which he held talks with the Algerian President at the El Mouradia presidential palace.
The talks, which have been deemed 'constructive' by HH the Amir, focused on cementing Qatar-Algeria bilateral ties.

During the session, the two leaders reviewed bilateral relations and explored means of developing them in several different fields, but particularly in energy, economy, investment, culture, and sports.
The two nations have enjoyed strong fraternal relations for several decades and have consolidated their bond through combined efforts across various fields.
HH the Amir's visit provides a fresh impetus to the longstanding relations between Qatar and Algeria, as they seek to enhance cooperation in the economic and investment fields.
This was highlighted during press remarks made by HH the Amir together with the Algerian President after the official talks.
HH the Amir hailed the role Algeria has been playing in resolving conflicts in the region and emphasized the need for the country to continue doing so.
The Qatari ruler also expressed his confidence in Algeria's capabilities to successfully manage the forthcoming Arab summit that will be held in Algeria.
Furthermore, HH the Amir expressed his gratitude to the Algerian President for the hospitality accorded to him and the delegation accompanying him.
President Tebboune said his discussions with HH the Amir recognized the willingness of the two countries to work jointly on the issues underlined during the session.
In addition to agreeing to increase cooperation across various fields, the talks also highlighted some regional and international issues of mutual concern such as the Palestinian cause and the Libyan crisis.
