Qatar Airways shoots down rumours that it gave free tickets to Filipinos from Kuwait
There had been several rumours going around that Qatar Airways provided free tickets to Filipinos working in Kuwait to return home.
Qatar’s national carrier strongly refuted the claims that were fraudulently reported in some Arabic media channels, according to The Peninsula.
Qatar Airways said Filipino passengers purchased regular airline tickets through a travel and tourism company in Kuwait rather than directly from Qatar Airways’ offices, reported Qatar Tribune.
The airline, in its official Twitter handle, said it operates according to a commercial policy and that it could not prevent anyone who have bought their tickets and have all the necessary papers from travelling on its aircraft.
Some social media channels had claimed that Qatar Airways was allowing Filipinos from Kuwait to fly free to their country, after the decision of the Philippine government to withdraw all its employees working in Kuwait over a dispute between the two sides.
