Qatar Airways plane suffered from a bird strike, not tyre burst, in Lagos
It was only two days ago that a news report, originating from Lagos, Nigeria, stated that a Qatar Airways plane narrowly escaped a crash after its tyre burst just prior to taking off.
Several websites, including Qatar Living, had published the news. But now, an official with Qatar Airways has clarified that the flight, which was supposed to take off from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport was delayed for a few hours following a bird strike.
“A bird-strike occurred whilst our aircraft was still on the runway. The aircraft taxied to a gate for a standard inspection and was cleared to fly. I hope that helps,” Qatar Airways’ Corporate Communications Global Manager was quoted as saying by naij.com.
The flight had already been cleared for take off when the bird hit the plane. It was grounded and a detailed inspection carried out before making its way out.
Now , We are relaxed ............ ............ ................ Good Luck & joys to everybody .....................
But to be fair to them, they did quickly admit to their mistake as well. How many other media houses in Qatar does that?
