Qatar Airways passenger who smuggled gold inside a tap arrested in Bengaluru

A passenger, who was travelling from Doha to Bengaluru on a Qatar Airways flight, was caught with 230 grams of gold concealed inside a bathroom tap.

The man, who had been flagged for suspicious behaviour, was detained in India after suspicious customs officers opened the tap after routine checkup. Gold biscuits had been cut into small pieces and stashed inside the water tap.

The passenger, who name was not immediately known, has been arrested.
