Qatar Airways launches new Cape Town direct flights
Qatar Airways will operate a new non-stop five-times-weekly service between Doha and Cape Town from November 3.
Cape Town, which is currently served by QA three-times-a-week via Johannesburg, is one of the airline’s most popular African destinations.
The airline is offering non-stop services to Cape Town for the first time because of the continuous growth of the airline’s fleet and an increasing passenger demand for the South African city.
With excellent connections to the world via Doha, the new non-stop route will benefit passengers throughout Qatar Airways’ global network.
The route will be operated by Qatar Airways’ Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft which features 22 seats in Business Class and 232 seats in Economy Class.
The aircraft boasts the latest interactive in-flight entertainment system featuring over 1,000 options available in all cabin classes.
“We are very pleased that we are now able to offer our passengers a dedicated non-stop service between Doha and Cape Town," Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer Akbar al-Baker said.
“Cape Town has long been one of the most popular destinations with passengers throughout our worldwide network, and with the new services, we are now able to provide our customers with quicker and more convenient connections to one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
"We also look forward to our passengers from Cape Town experiencing our five-star service as they fly with us non-stop to Doha and onwards to over 140 destinations.”
All Qatar Airways passengers now fly through the airline’s new hub in Doha, the Hamad International Airport.
The brand new facility offers passengers an unprecedented range of services with more than 70 retail outlets, more than 30 cafes and restaurants, and multiple five-star services, including a pool, a gym, squash courts and luxurious lounges.
Qatar Airways has seen rapid growth in 17 years of operations, and is currently flying a modern fleet of 135 aircraft to 144 key business and leisure destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and the Americas. (Gulf Times)
