Petrol prices for August reduced in Qatar, diesel rates remain stable
Amid the ongoing blockade of Qatar, there seems to be some reasons for people in Qatar to rejoice.
The price of premium petrol was reduced by five dirhams and is currently available for QR1.50 a litre. The prices are reaching this rate for the first time since January this year. Last month, the cost of a litre of premium gasoline was QR1.55.
Similarly, a litre of Super gasoline will cost QR1.60 in August, a reduction of five dirhams from July. It is the lowest price for this class of fuel since February this year.
However, the diesel prices have remained stable at QR1.50 a litre for the second time in a month.
In July, the Ministry of Energy and Industry had cut the price for premium and diesel, but kept the price of super petrol the same.
Since April, 2016, the ministry has been reviewing and renewing the prices of fuel in the country in line with international crude oil prices.
