New bridge at F-Ring Road proves to be a huge relief for motorists
THE new F-Ring Road bridge has brought huge relief to motorists taking the Mesaimeer Road as it provides seamless travel sans traffic signals, Qatar Tribune reported.
The travel time via Mesaimeer to Hamad International Airport (HIA) has come down for people residing in Abu Hamour, Al Maamoura and Al Aziziya as well as areas close to Salwa Road, Muaither and Aspire Zone.
The bridge, which connects the new F-Ring Road through Salwa Road to Mesaimeer, was opened to the public recently.
Motorists say it has not only reduced the volume of traffic in many important roads leading to central Doha, but has also helped them avoid traffic jams while coming from Al Wakra, Mesaieed Industrial City and to HIA from Salwa Road, Abu Hamour and Al Maamoura.
A South Asian expatriate driver said, "The link between F-Ring Road and Salwa Road is very crucial in Doha's road network. It’ll become a key corridor for passengers who travel from Doha's north-west to the city's southern parts, and the airport. Driving through this new road has been a good experience."
The new bridge, along with the F-Ring Road, has provided a 14km free-flow highway without any traffic signals and has enhanced the ease of movement, and provided easy access to and from the vital north-west region of Doha.
Moreover, the business community and workers staying near Qatar's Central Fish and Vegetable Market have largely benefited from this bridge.
Munna Ahmed Hajj, director of Wholesale Foodstuff Shop at Central Market, said, "Earlier, we used to be stuck in traffic en-route to the airport. A direct connection to Air Cargo terminal is very crucial for the business community in the Central Market. The new road gives access to the airport for the hundreds of people at the Central Market."
Likewise, the bridge is a vital part of the Rawdat Al Khail road project, which aims to enhance traffic flow and ease traffic jams in the area.
It will also connect the Industrial Area with Doha centrally and make it easier to reach Barwa Village and the Commercial Area.
The bridge, along with the F-Ring Road extension, will make accessing a number of important destinations and schools much easier and faster.
An Indian expatriate parent shared, "Students, parents and teachers will find this new road of great benefit. This newly established route will make many Indian schools close to people residing at Al Thumama, Barwa Village and Abu Hammour along with several other locations close to Salwa Road."
An Indian expat said, "Students and teachers will be one of the most benefited groups with the opening of the new road. It’ll bring many Indian schools closer to people residing at Al Thumama, Barwa Village and Abu Hamour and places nearer to Salwa Road."
Two temporary extra lanes which connect Barwa Village, Religious Complex, Karwa City and Asian Town to the F-Ring Road will also benefit a large number of people who work in the eastern part of the Industrial Area.
