Nepalese expats have no money to go back home
Several Nepalese workers who have lost their relatives and homes in last Saturday's earthquake in the Himalayan nation have no money to travel home.
A Nepalese community elder said he had been approached by at least 23 such compatriots and they are now trying to organise their travel home.
Many of these people had just returned from a vacation in Nepal, while some others were newcomers and didn't have cash, Sagar Nepal said.
The community has so far identified an estimated 150 Nepalese who have lost their near and dear ones or their homes in the disaster.
"From the social media we have come to know that between 80 and 85 Nepalese in Qatar have lost their relatives as well as homes," Nepal said.
Then, there are 70-odd people who have just lost their homes. Their relatives were injured and some of them have been discharged from hospitals after medical treatment while the others are still under treatment.
Nepal said some of his compatriots had lost their entire villages, which were perched atop mountains and located in remote valleys where access is difficult. [Read more on The Peninsula]

If they are paying you 21 days of basic salary for each year of service, then I think the company is right and it is as per law. As for your ticket while the company should provide you with one depending on your agreement you have with them, suggest you overlook this and return home peacefully. You will soon forget this bitter experience. You can claim the ticket if it is in your contract by taking the help of the Labor Office and they will help you out in getting your ticket. It is up to you now how you want to take things forward.
Yes ech years 21 days
Ishu is lucky to work with a kind heart management ................ .................................
Does he mean that they are paying only 21 days total ?
Three weeks (21 days) for each year is correct according to the Labor Law unless you have an agreement that the company pays more than that.

The "few" are able to do their malicious practice because the laws of the State of Qatar allow it!
Sorry , but "the few" need to be named and shamed
First, what the Nepalese people are going though breaks my heart and I feel for the ones that have lost their loved ones, homes, etc... Perhaps individuals like YOU AND I should support the cause instead of questioning the moral character of a whole society for the actions of a few. I think that Qatar has stepped up to the plate time after time to support nations and people in need. Although if I were in their shoes (God forbid) I would want to be there... I think that at this point in time, all aid and humanitarian efforts should be directed towards aiding people actually IN Nepal; search and rescue, water, food, shelter.
This is a sad indictment on the society here. Surely, at times like this the employer should step up and bear the costs. Otherwise Qatar Charity should help. It's the only humane way.
Shame on the employers
