MoI says Indians availing visa-free entry to Qatar can now carry credit or debit cards
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) had recently made changes to procedures for Indians travelling to Qatar on on-arrival visas.
While the number of days Indians can stay in Qatar on on-arrival visas had been reduced to 30, some new clauses — like possession of credit cards in the name of the traveller — had also been introduced.
But now, further amends have been made and a traveller can carry either a credit or debit card while travelling to Qatar for visa-free entry, reported Gulf Times.
“Applicant must be in possession of a valid credit or debit card (Mandatory to present a valid credit or debit card in the name of the traveller; in case of travelling with family, the family head should have a card in his name),” said the announcement on the MoI website.
All other clauses remain unchanged. The traveller will need a hotel reservation, confirmed return ticket as well as passport validity of at least six months.
Q1. Is it like the card (debit/credit) must be an international card?
My brother is coming next week. He has RuPay card of Bank of Baroda. (with written on top - International card).
Q2. Is RuPay card also valid? (it's not Visa or MasterCard)

I come to doha on 21/11/2018 by Free On Arrival Visa.
I give my passport & return ticket.Immigration officer ask me the hotel booking,i said that i will stay with my uncle.Then, he ask my uncle Qatar ID, Address , Phone number & credit/debit card. I provided the same & i get free on arrival visa.
If you bring your relative to qatar, provide them Ur Qatar ID copy, Address & phone number

I just talked to Indigo Qatar representative. Hotel reservation is mandatory, without that traveler will not be allowed to board the flight. You can book hotel online as many hotels offer free cancellation. My wife and child is also visiting next month and I have done the same.
Yes Indian need Payment card like credit or debit card while travel to Qatar if there friend or relative here in qatar and they can show RP copy not need hotel booking .
I suggest best apply for visiting visa for family members .

My mother-in-law is coming with on-arrival visa this week. I booked Qatar Airways flight. Yesterday, i went to check with Qatar Airway office regarding hotel reservation. They said, it is fine if you have family accommodation here. But, still I am not sure. Anybody arrived after 11th Nov.???

Without HOTEL BOOKING & BANK CARD, Indian Airports are not allowing to travel to Qatar with this ON ARRIVAL VISA
if he has family here , they should apply for a family visit visa .
MOI should continue to make entry more difficult for Indians. We welcome harder rules. Qatar should keep high standards and not allow everyone easily to enter.
What about the Visitor coming to Qatar have his family or friend here still he needs hotel booking .... any one knows about it ?
