Man gets seven-year jail term for QR5m jewelry theft
The Doha Criminal Court has sentenced a man to seven years in jail for illegally breaking into a house and stealing QR5m worth of jewelry and watches.
The defendant broke into the house of the victim at night, cracked open a safe and got away with the stolen property. The victim filed a case and demanded a compensation of QR10m for the damage he suffered during the theft.
The defendant was arrested at the airport while trying to enter the country with some of the stolen jewelry.
An investigation found that the man had previously also been convicted.

Really? So he caused QR5m damage?. I'm sure replacing the broken window/door and safe should cost much less.
