Mall of Qatar officially opens its doors to the public for first time
The Mall of Qatar, which is expected to give shoppers a new shopping experience, officially opened its doors to customers with a soft launch yesterday.
A slew of visitors, including media personnel, entered the Mall of Qatar during the soft opening.
The Mall, spread over 500,000sqm, will be home to some of the world’s best brands as well as top-notch recreation and leisure options for the public.
Mall of Qatar CEO Ahmed Al Mulla said it was a happy moment for them.
“After working towards a goal for many years, seeing it come to life is one of the most incredible experiences — and I’m grateful to the entire team for this momentous occasion. We’re pleased to say that the Mall is 99% leased and 92% are currently in the fit-out phase. We opened over 220 stores on our first day, which is 60% of the gross leasable area,” he told The Peninsula.
There are some world-class entertainment options at the Mall of Qatar. Mall Of Qatar Live is a free entertainment program that will take visitors on an adventure on the world’s first 360-degree in mall revolving stage.
It is set at the Mall Of Qatar`s Oasis, a 5,000sqm lush green, landscaped entertainment arena, which features dancing interactive fountains and waterfalls and hosts year-long shows.
Meanwhile, the Landmark Group announced the launch of 19 stores at the Mall of Qatar, reported Gulf Times.
Mall of Qatar will host Landmark Group’s Centrepoint, Max, Iconic, Reiss, New Look, Koton, Steve Madden, Carpisa, Ecco, Kurt Geiger, Pablosky, Emax, Sports One, Shoexpress, Candelite and Carluccio’s.
Landmark Group will also introduce fashion and food concepts — Lipsy, Zafran and GRK Fresh — for the first time in the country.
So, its a soft launch and hopefully the new stores will arrive quickly
