
Katara to reopen beaches for visitors from Wednesday

Her Excellency Lolwah bint Rashid Al-Khater, Spokesperson for the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management, announced Qatar’s plans to ease coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions in four phases on June 8, 2020.
Based on the available public health data and COVID-19 spread indicators, including passing the peak, flattening the curve, and reducing the spread of the virus, the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management has decided to launch phase 2 of the gradual reopening plan on July 1, 2020, as initially planned.
Katara Cultural Village will reopen beaches 3, 4, and 5 from July 1, 2020.
The beaches will be open from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and swimming is only allowed in designated areas of beaches 3 and 4 till sunset.
Jet Ski ports will reopen from July 1, 2020, as well from 3:00 pm till sunset.
Katara Hills Promenade (North and South) reopened on June 15, 2020, for sporting activities.
All visitors must adhere to the precautionary measures and social distancing guidelines.
Additionally, Lusail Marina Promenade will reopen to the public from July 1, 2020, with its facilities; Crescent Park, and Lusail Marina Food Arena.
Yesterday, Qatar announced the opening of all parks and beaches as well as the Corniche for people of all ages while continuing to practice social distancing. However, the play areas will remain closed.
Earlier, Qatar Museums (QM) announced it will reopen a number of its museums and heritage sites to the public on July 1, 2020, in accordance with recommendations from Qatar’s Health Protection & Communicable Disease Control office of the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH).
