Katara launch initiative to giveaway books to readers

Katara Cultural Village will launch a new initiative, which involves collecting donated books and giving them to those who love to read for free, next week.
Hundreds of books in different languages and on various topics will be available for free through this initiative.
Used books will be kept in designated trunks near the Katara beach on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
The books will be on display for readers, who can pick what they want to read on these days from 4pm until midnight.
Katara general manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti described the initiative as important, pioneering and constructive.
It is being undertaken by Katara as part of its responsibility in terms of promoting culture, literature, science and knowledge, and making them easily accessible for the general public.
Dr al-Sulaiti stressed that there are many people who have books that they do not particularly need, while others do not have the material means to buy such books but are willing to acquire them when possible.
Those who wish to donate used books for this project can call 66644031 or deliver the books at Katara Building 22, first floor. [Gulf Times]
