Illegal diesel carriers caught by patrols
Patrolling units deployed by the Ministry of Environment have seized some vehicles carrying diesel without a licence in Al Shamal area.
According to a report on The Peninsula, the patrolling units also seized vehicles carrying concrete mixture and seawater.
The ministry has launched a campaign to check these violations, which can harm the environment. Ministry official said that they would not tolerate cases where the marine environment or wildlife was harmed.
The official urged public participation in reducing such violations and said that protecting the environment was the responsibility of all citizens.
Earlier, the ministry transferred a number of violations to the public prosecution. Most of the cases were related to carrying dangerous materials without a licence from the authorities.
