Huffington Post picks Hamad International Airport as 'World’s Coolest Airport'

Hamad International Airport (HIA) has been ranked number one on Huffington Post’s list of the World’s Coolest Airports. The ranking compiled by the news outlet lists the best airports in the world that make the journey as enjoyable as reaching the destination.

The Airport has been lauded for its top notch facilities and services including its 25M swimming pool, complimentary quiet rooms, the children’s toy store at Qatar Duty Free, the airport’s award winning shopping emporium, and the iconic Lamp Bear sculpture by artist Urs Fischer which is one among several artistic media installed at the airport including paintings, sculptures, electronic and interactive installations.

Badr Mohammed Al Meer, Chief Operating Officer at Hamad International Airport, said: “Being ranked first among mammoth players in the industry mirrors our ambition to position HIA as a major player in the international aviation sector.”
