HH The Emir send condolences to families of Las Vegas mass shooting victims
HH The Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has expressed his condolences to the families of victims who were killed during a mass shooting in Las Vegas yesterday.
HH The Emir yesterday sent a cable to US President Donald Trump expressing his regret over the incident, which is one of the worst in American history, reported The Peninsula.
Deputy Emir HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani and Prime Minister and Interior Minister HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani also sent their messages of condolences.
A 64-year-old man, holed up in a 32nd-floor hotel room with multiple machine guns, had rained down gunfire on a Las Vegas country music festival on Sunday. He slaughtered at least 58 people and injured at least 515 others before taking his own life, reported Qatar Tribune.
The barrage of bullets from the Mandalay Bay hotel into a crowd of 22,000 people lasted several minutes, causing panic. Terrified people ran in all directions as police scrambled to locate the shooter.
Police identified the gunman as Stephen Paddock, who lived in a retirement community in Mesquite, Nevada. He is believed to have acted alone.
Although ISIS claimed responsibility for the massacre, US officials have denied the claims.
More investigations are ongoing.

It's very sad to see such horrific acts...condolences to the families of the departed and hope the injured make speedy and full recovery.
It's high time the US government wake up and impose stricter gun control laws.
