HH the Amir, PM of Pakistan hold official talks
Qatar and Pakistan enjoy strong brotherly relations, which are strengthened through ongoing cooperation across various fields including politics, commerce, defense, and culture.
The two friendly nations coordinate their viewpoints in international gatherings with a desire to ensure peace, security, and stability.
To further cement bilateral ties, leaders of the two countries met with each other yesterday.
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan held official talks at the Amiri Diwan.
The discussions centered on bilateral relations and ways to enhance them further, particularly in the economic, investment, and energy fields.
The two sides also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern such as the Afghan peace deal, which will be signed in Doha later this week.
His Excellency Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, together with several of Qatar’s ministers attended the session.
From the Pakistani side, members of the official delegation accompanying the Pakistani PM also joined the meeting.
After the talks, HH the Amir hosted a luncheon banquet in honor of the Pakistani premier and his delegation.
Earlier, HE the Minister of State for Energy Affairs Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi and Pakistan’s ambassador to Qatar, Syed Ahsan Raza Shah, welcomed PM Khan upon his arrival at Hamad International Airport.
This was PM Khan’s second visit to Qatar since he came to power in August 2018.
Qatar and Pakistan continue to boost relations as shown by the commitment of officials from both countries who have exchanged visits in recent years.

In addition to holding political consultations and meetings of joint committees, the two nations have agreed to collaborate in several domains including politics, economy, commerce, security, education, media, sports, meteorology, and prevention of tax duplicity.
Pakistan is one of Qatar's most significant trade partners. In 2018, the Qatar-Pakistan trade volume went up by 63 percent to hit the QR9.5 billion mark.
