HH the Amir donates QR50 million to alleviate suffering of displaced Syrians

Qatar has always been one of the first countries to step up and offer support to countries in need.
Reflecting Qatar’s humanitarian spirit, Qatar Charity (QC), jointly with Qatar Media Corporation (QMC), is running a campaign to provide urgent relief aid to Syrian refugees and internally displaced persons who form the world’s largest internally displaced population.
Qatar’s great leader, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has donated QR50 million to support the ‘Sham Deserves’ campaign that seeks to alleviate the suffering of displaced Syrians by providing them food, water, shelter, health and sanitation supplies.

According to the United Nations, as many as 900,000 Syrians, mainly women, and children have fled their homes moving toward far-away areas and are living in appalling conditions amid peak winter temperatures.
Under the 'Sham Deserves' campaign, various media outlets including satellite stations and local radio stations such as Qatar TV, Qatar Radio, Holy Quran Radio, Voice of the Gulf and the Cup, Al Rayyan satellite channel and Voice of Al Rayyan Radio ran live broadcasts yesterday to raise donations for the cause, according to Gulf Times.
A live broadcast will also be carried out today from 6 pm to 10 pm, The Peninsula reported.
On the first day of the campaign, donations exceeded QR 86 million, Qatar Charity announced.
