Heavy dust and wind to follow rains in the coming days in Qatar, warns Met Dept

If you are in Qatar this weekend, expect to see strong winds and dusty conditions in the country, the Met Department has warned.
The conditions will be preceded by a spell of unsettled weather and rain between Wednesday and Friday morning, according to the latest forecast. The weather office has also issued a marine warning for this period, reported Gulf Times.
The Met department, in a report, said weather charts indicate “strong northwesterly winds are expected to affect the country from Friday evening until Saturday evening.”

The wind speed will range from 18 to 28 knots, going up to 40 knots at times in some places. This, in turn, will result in dust and reduced visibility (below 1km) in most areas, with generally dusty conditions prevailing across the country.
Also, the sea state is expected to be rough, with the waves expected to reach up to 12ft.
However, the windy conditions are expected to ease on Saturday evening with a noticeable drop in temperature. The maximum temperature is expected to range between 18°C and 22°C and minimums between 14°C and 16°C, reported Qatar Tribune.
Meanwhile, unsettled weather is expected in the country from Wednesday until Friday morning as the cloud amount will increase gradually, and there is a chance of scattered rain, which will mostly be light to moderate in intensity.
The rain may become thundery at times in some areas, accompanied by strong winds for a limited period.
The Met department has advised people to be cautious and avoid all marine activities given the expected conditions.
The minimum temperature today is expected to be 13°C in Al Khor, 14°C in Wakrah and Mesaieed, 16°C in Dukhan and Abu Samra, and 17°C in Doha and Ruwais. The maximum, on the other hand, will range from 25°C in Wakrah, Mesaieed and Ruwais to 28°C in Doha.
