Have you visited the sensational Doha International Book Fair yet?
The 27th edition of the Doha International Book Fair, currently underway at the Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC), is continuing to draw huge crowds.
A total of 490 publishing houses, from 33 countries, are taking part in the event which kicked off on November 30. The 10-day fair is showcasing more than 104,000 titles in Arabic and other foreign languages. There are 895 stands in all.
Around 90 publishing houses specialising in children’s books are also participating. The exhibition is quite literally bigger this year, with the floor area having gone up to 23,500 sqm from 20,000 sqm.
This year’s book fair revolves around the theme ‘Read.’
The fair is expected to strengthen the connections between Qatari writers and their counterparts abroad.
The book fair will run until December 10 and will be open from 9am to 10pm each day. On Fridays, the working times will be 4pm to 11pm.
This book fair in the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center next to the City center mall not in QNCC.
