Hamad Medical Corporation implements new parking system for visitors and patients
Taking effect on April 1 this year, a new parking system has been launched by Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) at its hospital in Doha.
According to a recent post by HMC, the new policy aims to improve access to care provided and ensure convenient parking spaces for patients and visitors.
The new parking policy in place will allow patients and visitors up to three hours of free parking, followed by a QAR 15 fee for an additional hour and then QAR 5 per hour thereafter.

Upon entering the HMC hospital, you will be required to collect a ticket that will track your time spent at the hospital. The same tick will be used to pay for parking fees, if any, when leaving the hospital.
The payment for the designated parking space can be made by a debit or credit card at the machines installed.
Moreover, the HMC staff will be available to assist you throughout the process if required. Special exemptions for parking fees will be given to patients undergoing chemotherapy and dialysis.
According to HMC’s Chief of Healthcare Facilities and Acting Chief of Business Services Hamad Al Khalifa, there is a need for this new parking policy to provide a safe and convenient parking space for visitors and patients as the facilities and services being offered by HMC continue to grow.
“Qatar’s population has grown significantly in recent years and this is putting pressure on car parking spaces due to the increasing number of patients being treated at HMC. Additionally, we have opened four new hospitals on our Doha campus since 2016 and this has led to an increase in demand on parking spaces due to more services being operated,” stated Hamad Al Khalifa.
He also noted that the majority of visitors tend to leave the hospitals within three hours, indicating that most people would not be required to pay a fee for parking within the three-hour period.
