Free exit permits for expats, MoI confirms
From now onwards, exit permits that were previously required by expatriate workers to go out of Qatar will be issued free of charge as announced by the Ministry of Interior (MoI) today. There will also be no more printed receipts and the entire transaction will be done online. The Ministry’s aim is to make leaving and entering the country easier and more streamlined for Qataris and expatriates and this development is part of that aim.
In addition, exit permits granted from guardians to Qatari minors can also be done online and will be free from charge. People who are on personal sponsorship will be required to make a payment of QAR.10 for every exit permit, whereas people who are sponsored by an organization of company need to pay QAR.10 for every exit permit
The MoI further stated that these services can be availed through the Metrash 2, Hukoomi or MoI websites.
