Many buses were destroyed in a fire that broke out in the Karwa compound near Abu Hamour yesterday evening.

The buses were parked in the compound after the day’s operations. Sources said more than two dozen buses were destroyed. Among them were buses used by schools.

According to a Doha News report, the fire broke out around 8.30 p.m. and was brought under control by 11 p.m.

The reason for the fire is still unknown. Police and civil defence personnel are still investigating the matter. Investigators are also considering the possibility of the fire being started deliberately.
