Fakhroo crowned Qatar's Drift King at Red Bull Car Park Drift 2016
Qatari drifter, Abdelrahman Fakhroo, was crowned Qatar's King of Drift last night Red Bull Car Park Drift 2016! The country witnessed the opening round of Red Bull Car Park Drift Middle East 2016 Season under the patronage of Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) and in partnership with Qatar Motor Show (QMS).
The unforgettable adrenaline-charged show at Doha Corniche under the supervision of legendary drifter Abdo Feghali, highlighted a night full of roaring engines and tires smoke. 8000 spectators overran the Corniche defeating the cold weather to cheer on the qualified 10 drifters.
While Abdelrahman Fakhroo achieved 293 points to convince the four judges and walk away with the top spot, drifting fans at the Doha Corniche-Dallah Parking got to witness unprecedented drifting action, reflecting exceptional skills and technique in a safe environment.
Fakhroo driving a Nissan Skyline showed a consistent level across all runs. His final run ensured a tidy pass. Second place went to Walid Salem driving Chevrolet Camaro with 292 points and he was only 1 point away from the Winner.
Ahmad Al Jaouni rounded the podium as third scoring 259 points on his BMW M3. Mohammad Saad Al Morraikhi, QMMF General Secretary and Sultan Zaher Al Morraikhi, QMMF board Member were present to deliver the trophies.

Celebrating his triumph, Fakhroo said: "Last year I participated in Red Bull Car Park Drift and came third but I felt that this year will be different and I am so happy to be crowned 2016 Qatar's King of Drift. It was a very organized competition and I will make sure to be well prepared for the finals in Oman".
The judging panel consisted of Rashid Al Sulaiti (QMMF Team Coordinator and Public Relations Manager), Mohamed Abu Issa (Red Bull Athlete, Qatari quad rider), Karl Heinz Holz (Off Road Sporting Consultant) and Paul Fadel (Motorsport Analyst and Commentator).
The process was based on drifting skills as a major criterion, in addition to car look and design, clipping point, car sound, tire smoke, and the box.
The competition included a quad race show by one of the members of the judging panel, Mohamed Abu Issa, a Motorbike Stunt Riding show by the talented Shadi Al Dhaheri and an MX show by the 10-time SuperMoto Champ and Trials Champion, Brian Capper.
